Deleting Your Data
How to have your personal data removed from Prativani — whichever way you came into contact with it.
1. Start Here
Which route applies depends on how your data reached us, so start by finding yourself below:
- You messaged a business that uses Prativani — on their website chat, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram or by email. Go to section 2.
- You have a Prativani account — you or your company signed up to use the product. Go to section 3.
- You connected Facebook or Instagram to a Prativani workspace and want to disconnect it. Go to section 4.
2. If You Messaged a Business
Prativani is the software a business uses to answer its customers. When you message a company through it, your conversation belongs to that company, not to us — they decide what is kept and for how long, and we hold it on their behalf. That makes them the right people to ask.
Contact the business you were talking to and ask them to delete your data. They can do it themselves, immediately, from inside Prativani. If you cannot reach them, or they do not respond, write to [email protected] with the name of the business and the phone number, email address or social account you used to contact them. We will pass the request on and follow up with them, though the decision and the deletion remain theirs to make.
When a business deletes a contact, the conversations, messages, attachments, call recordings and transcripts attached to that person are permanently removed from our systems.
3. If You Have a Prativani Account
You have three options, depending on how much you want removed.
- Export your data first — in the dashboard, go to Settings → Compliance and choose Export personal data. You will get a downloadable copy of your profile, login history, the actions you took and the notifications you received.
- Leave the workspace — if you are a team member rather than the owner, leaving removes your access. Your name stays on the conversations you handled, because that record belongs to the business you worked for.
- Delete the whole workspace — an owner can do this from the dashboard. The workspace closes immediately and is permanently purged after a 7-day grace period, during which it can still be restored. After that, conversations, contacts, recordings and files are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.
To delete your personal account and everything attached to it, email [email protected] from the address on the account. We will verify it is you and complete the request within 30 days, usually much sooner. Some records — invoices and tax documents in particular — are kept for longer where the law requires it.
4. Disconnecting Facebook or Instagram
If you connected a Facebook Page or an Instagram account to a Prativani workspace, you can remove that connection at any time, from either end:
- From Prativani — go to Settings → Channels, open the connected account, and disconnect it.
- From Facebook — go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, find Prativani, and remove it. On Instagram, the equivalent is under Settings → Website Permissions → Apps and Websites.
Disconnecting stops any further access: we no longer receive messages for that account and the access token is discarded. Conversations that already happened are kept, because they are the business's own record of its customer support — to have those deleted too, follow section 2 or section 3, or email [email protected] and say that you want the data from the disconnected account removed.
5. What We Need From You
So that we do not delete the wrong person's data, a request by email should tell us who you are and what to look for: the email address, phone number or social account you used, the name of the business if you were contacting one, and roughly when. We may ask for something more before acting on a request that would delete another party's records.
We acknowledge requests within 72 hours and complete them within 30 days. There is no charge.
